Remembrance

In July 2012, I attended a workshop with Russ Johnson in Princeton, New Jersey.  For the workshop, Russ had obtained special permission for our class to paint on the grounds of Princeton University.  The painting shows the bell at the 9/11 memorial garden created to honor the 13 Princeton alumni killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.  The bell was designed by Toshiko Takaezu.  Painted July 12, 2012.  Not for sale.  Copyright 2012 Charles Snell.

  1. Excellent painting. You create tremendous energy in what could have been a fairly static scene. Reminds me a lot of Sargent. You're keeping good company.
