Brandywine River - Wilmington, Delaware (sold) Detail - 12 x 16 oil
Rockford Tower - Wilmington, Delaware (sold) 8 x 10 oil
Both paintings were from parks in Wilmington, Delaware. The tower painting was painted completely with Royal Talens Cobra water-miscible oils, on a primed muslin surface over a wood panel. The river painting was a combination of the water-miscible oils for the more distant elements and traditional oil paints to build up foreground details. The panel for the river painting was MDF primed with gesso and then toned using a pale violet tint. (c) 2017 Charles Snell.
Also from the Chincoteague Plein Air Event is this painting of the sunrise over Assateague Island. I was set up at the boat ramp and had a conversation with the owner of a cute puppy named Lil as they were taking an early morning walk. (c) 2016 Charles Snell.
Painted using a palette of cobalt blue, prussian blue, permanent alizarin crimson, cadmium red light, cadmium yellow light, raw umber, and titanium white. The view is from Pennington Park in Delanco, New Jersey looking towards the Rancocas Creek. (c) 2015 Charles Snell.
